Supposing your child is showing annoyance or frustration when you speak to him using the English language, make use of your native tongue instead. Recognize that your child has to be at ease communicating with you.

There are several English media which you can use for young children. You can ask them to watch a DVD where they can listen to the English language and see attractive images. You will notice that during the first few weeks, your child is just silently watching it. Soon enough he will start speaking the language. Exposure like this will make your child speak the language at his own pace. Other great instruments that can make learning English enjoyable for the little ones are flashcards and puppets.

Do not be overwhelmed by your desire to make your child learn English. Do not ever pressure or push him too hard. You have to make his English lessons a pleasing experience and not the kind that will traumatize him.

Try not to show disappointment when he fails to get the lesson. Do not forget to praise your child when he starts speaking the language.

You have to understand that teaching English is not easy. Kids do not learn English overnight.
